How are handicaps calculated in matchplay golf?
Your Handicap Index is converted to a Course Handicap using the course's Slope Rating, Course Rating, and Par. In singles matchplay both players use 100% of their Course Handicap — the difference is the number of shots the lower-handicapper gives. Full step-by-step guide →
What matchplay formats does Dormie support?
Dormie handles individual matchplay, four-ball (better ball), foursomes (alternate shot), and greensomes. Each format has its own WHS handicap allowance, and Dormie calculates the correct Playing Handicap for all four automatically.
What is a Course Handicap?

How do I know which holes I receive shots on?
Shots are allocated by the Stroke Index on the scorecard. If you receive 8 shots, you get one extra stroke on the 8 holes ranked SI 1–8. Dormie shows exactly which holes receive strokes so there's no dispute on the course. Stroke index explained →
